Proposed Timeline for the Transdisciplinary 15-point Requirement Courses Rollout

The Transdisciplinary 15-point Requirement Courses will be rolled out between Semester 2 2024 and Semester 1 2026.

Starting from 2026 and beyond, all undergraduate students at Waipapa Taumata Rau | the University of Auckland will be required to engage in a transdisciplinary learning experience.

Two Transdisciplinary Pilot courses will run beginning in 2024, where we can test and refine the offers and learning experiences. We will increase the number of offerings in 2025 in preparation for delivery to all students in 2026.

Join an ideation session

During April, two ideation sessions are being held to support the development of TD courses for teaching in 2026.

The upcoming ideation sessions are the first step in the process of course development and will be followed by an Expression of Interest (EOI) process, where groups will be able to submit their course concept, and a formal proposal. These ideation sessions are open to all teaching staff, and participants of last year’s EOI process are also encouraged to come along to continue to shape their concepts and ideas.

If you would like to come along to a session, please click on the link below to register your interest. There are a couple of questions to answer on the registration form which will support appropriate groupings at the session based on area of interest.

Submit an expression of interest

If you are unable to attend a session, or you and your team already have a clear idea of what you would like to put forward, use the EOI form linked below to submit your concept.
