Transdisciplinary 15-point Requirement Course Pedagogical Approach

A Transdisciplinary 15-point Requirement Course will transform the student experience through innovative pedagogical approaches, practices and tools.

The Transdisciplinary 15-point Requirement Courses will offer relational, cohort-based and cross-faculty learning.

At the same time students will participate in engaging and highly interactive sessions that encourage them to think critically, reflect, communicate and collaborate.

To create a multi-layered learning community, students will interact at multiple levels in:

    • Small groups (4 to 5 students),
    • Studios (25 to 33 students),
    • Course level community (250 to 1000 students)

The Transdisciplinary 15-point Requirement Courses will not include the traditional stand-and-deliver lecture. Instead, students and teaching staff will engage with the relevant topics and materials through a range of innovative pedagogical models, which may include technology-enhanced learning, flipped classrooms, field trips, learning by doing, games, and role-playing exercises.

To enrich the student experience and the teaching space, staff engaging in Transdisciplinary 15-point Requirement Courses will have access to pedagogical and teaching support to facilitate innovative course delivery and to transform and reimagine the learning space.
