Transdisciplinarity for Undergraduates

As part of the University’s curriculum framework transformation (CFT), all undergraduate students will be required to engage in transdisciplinary learning to develop the necessary foundational skills and a mindset for learning how to respond to complex issues.

To begin the implementation of Transdisciplinarity at Waipapa Taumata Rau, in 2022, the Education Committee, Senate, and Council approved the inclusion of a 15-point transdisciplinary requirement in all undergraduate programmes at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland.

The Curriculum Framework Transformation (CFT) Structure document states:
All Waipapa  Taumata Rau | University of Auckland undergraduate degrees will require completion of a 15-point transdisciplinary requirement defined against pre-specified criteria set by the University (with a parallel requirement for students enrolled in mātauranga Māori pathways).
All undergraduate degrees must include the completion of a 15-point transdisciplinary requirement.
